  • Perfect Partner Training Facility and Hudson Bucking Bulls

Howdy!  I'm a new member from Oklahoma.  My husband and I run a small training facility that specializes in retraining  problem horses (bucking, spooky, etc.), breed and raise bucking bulls, and recently my 12 year old daughter started venturing into the open horse show arena.  Never a dull moment around here!  We own 6 horses -  Colty ( 6 year old Tobiano Paint Gelding), Sadie ( 8 year old Overo Pinto Mare), Doc (5 year old Black/White Shetland Pony Gelding), Brandy (15 year old Red Roan Paint Mare), Stormy (13 year old Buckskin Blanketed Mustang/Appaloosa Gelding), and Cash ( 5 year old Overo Paint Gelding).  Most of the horses have been given to me because of there behavorial or health problems.  Cash is the only one that was bought as a christmas present for my daughter.  Brandy is currently leased out to a 15 year old girl for her to show this Spring.  Sadie was my daughter's show mount last year, but while she is the best tempered, biggest heart, forgiving horse, at 13.3 hands, she just can't compete in the local shows.  Colty is my baby, he was given to me when he was a yearling.  A horse trader friend of mine bought a load of horses and when they arrived, Colty was down in the trailer and under the horses.  He was in such bad shape, that he couldn't stand and was loaded with parasites and badly malnourished.  My friend couldn't bear to put him down, so he gave him to me to see if I could save him.  Colty was a yearling but underweight enough that my husband and I picked him up and put him in the trailer to bring him home.  I named him a generic name like Colty because I didn't think he would survive.  He had other ideas.  After many, many months and many setbacks, he is now a 16 hand 1150 lb wonderful horse.  I should have known he had a large heart because on his right shoulder is a spot in the shape of a heart that goes from his withers to his elbow.  That how he got the full name of ColtysHeart and how I got my member name.   Doc, is my son's pony and I don't know which one is more onery, and Stormy is the herd boss and a good solid mount for anyone.  Anyway I have rambled enough for now.  Bye!
