Miss Dakota Rain

*NOTE-This horse is not for sale, I just wanted to let everyone get to know my horses, as I am new to the forum.*

Miss Dakota Rain aka Dakota-

Dakota was my first horse, as well as my first lesson horse. She stands at about 15 hands. She is an 11 year old paint mare. She has never had a foal, and I don't think that I will ever let her. She is definatly the lead mare of the herd. She can be ridden western or english and rides well at both. I wouldn't say that Dakota likes work, but she tries to please and wants to do well.She is my little show off! Dakota can be stubborn at times, and when she is you have to be a "scary bear" , as my mom likes to say. She really needs an intermediate rider. I remember when I tried to ride her the day that I got home, she was used to a full cheek snaffle bit, and we had bought a tom-thumb because I was riding western. The tom-thumb is great for neck reigning. So I hopped on her with all of my family around and she just went ballistic, side-stepping, throwing her head around....gosh it was scary!!! Then, I bonded with her and now, she does anything for me...I mean anything. She will test you, I think that I new this the day the first day I got her. I put my neice on her for a lesson. (Take notice that I am only 13, but I do give lessons..don't freit, I know what I am doing ) Anyway, so my mom took her horse out of the pasture and we began our lesson. Dakota gave my neice a piece of her mind. She was neighing and prancing around. I told my neice to let me get on her, she did nothing wrong...my neice mounted up again, and the Dakota started up again. She is a peice of work that I fell in love with. Still, to this day, she has made doors open for me, and made my life nothing but horses. I love you Dakota!
