    Official Q&A for the New Community- Customer Service

    Hi everyone!

    We have had several different threads with questions about the new site.  It is hard to keep up with it all since it is spread out so we had a suggestion to create an "official" thread for questions.

    So, for any questions or concerns regarding the New Community please post them only to this thread.  We can monitor this much easier and will be able to answer all of your questions.  If you create a new post somewhere else we may not be able to get to it so please only use this post for customer service issues.

    Our engineers are fixing all the images with the red "X" including your sig.  They will be back shortly!

    Any ideas why I don't have the option for the cool new smileys everyone is using? (I can see them, I just can't use them in a post). Is this a browser/platform issue (Safari/Mac OSX)? Thanks

    I have "Email Subscription Disabled" on my forum messages...... yet I keep getting emails every time someone responds!

    QHAllAround - there is a known issue with Safari on Mac OSX and the smileys.  This is a limitation of the software, and hopefully it will be something that the software maker will fix in a future release.  For now, if you want to do smileys in a post, you can try using Firefox for Mac or IE for Mac and see if the smileys show up.  I'll keep you posted if the Safari on Mac issue is fixed.

    luneducheval - This is a big feature a lot of people want, and we discussed it in our engineers meeting today.  We are having them research what it will take to get this feature working for everyone. Again, I'll post an update when I get an idea of when we can put that into production.  I promise they're working on it :)

    KCS - If you are using a PC with Internet Explorer or Firefox, when you go to type in a post, there is a little smiley icon at the top middle/right part of the text box.  You can click that to interject smileys into your post

    igottagrey - to change your display name, here are some great steps from Kim W. (http://community.equisearch.com/forums/p/36280/262442.aspx#262442)

    Go to My Horse Space, click on 'About' tab. In 'Name' box, put your screen name in. Click save. Now, go to the 'Site Options' tab, click yes for 'Enable display name'. There you go, you've got it back! :)

    arabmagic - If you go to "My Horse Space" and then to the "Email" tab, you might try turning off all of the email options (Click the "No" button) and see if the emails stop.  I think I have mine set to: Enable Email Notifications of forum/thread subscriptions and replies to my posts. "No" and all the rest of them to "Yes"

    Hi:

    I've figured out how to change the size of the font when I'm viewing posts. How do I change it when I typing a response to a post. It's very difficult on these middle-aged eyes. The toolbar has selections for everything but font size. Confused

    Why can't I use my Canadian postal code in my profile??? I had to make up a US one so I could change my name here. Oh I forgot...if you're trying to improve this forum you've failed...it takes much longer to load and I'm not on dialup...bring back the old ES please!!

    Draftgirl04, this was fixed about an hour ago.  Please enter your postal code again.  I have changed mine to AAAAAAA AAAAAA to test and the system accepted it fine.

    I'm sorry you don't like the new forums, change can be tough.  We will be working to improve them, and we've already added a lot of new features.  We're doing our best to make the forums a better place.
