Yeah, I rode at Dassenbrook for a couple of years with one of their other trainers until she left. I'm not very happy with the way they treated the school horse I rode, though. He had terrible ground manners and was NOT meant to be a school horse (had bucking problems.) he would be okay as long as people who knew what they were doing rode him, but anytime I rode him after a beginner had been on he would be terrible. One day he lunged at the owner when she was walking into his stall, and they didn't even address the problem... just made a rule no students could go in his stall. A couple of months after I left someone told me they just left him in the stall and no one would ride him. He disappeared awhile ago, so we think they sold him/auctioned him off. It's sad, because he really need to be trained correctly, but the situation was handled horribly.
Whew, that was a rant! Anyway, my friend still boards her horse there and rides with Joleen, but I know what you mean about IHSA. I think a couple of the home shows were at a barn called Green Pastures? I used to ride there, too... (I sound like I've ridden everywhere, lol.)
Anyway, I was just curious, because I thought it was an interesting coincidence. The horse world is so connected around here. There was a terrible accident the other day on Rt. 20 in Elgin involving a horse trailer. :-( I don't think the horses were hurt, but a man was killed.
