Yup, JUST after midnight my time Ruby had her baby! She came out real quick and easy. Chestnut filly, tiny girl :) Pics have to wait, sorry! I'm really tired and waiting on the vet (coming to recheck Sierra's eye).
After two hours of not finding the nipples, Craig and I finally managed to help her. So I'm concnerned about the amt of colostrum she got, so since vet is very conviently coming here anyhow, will have her checked. But she seeems to be doing well, she was HARD to hold stil this morning when I was petting her and getting some gunk off from around her eyes that was attracting flies (maybe some milk from when she was having problems?).
Dazzle is on the other side of them, and Ruby does NOT like her even looking at her baby! Silly mare, hope she calms down soon. She pushes her baby away from there. She's OK with Casi, but not thrilled with her sometimes.
I have the cam off for a bit this morning but it will be back on in a couple hours or so. I HOPE to get photos today, but no promises... even if I get to cropping/resizing/uploading I might not have time to share them until tomarrow.
Still thinking of names. Since Ruby is Diamonds and Rubys, possibly Sapphire or Solitaire but not sure.
