Lol... you'd have to take that up with my trainer!  If he were mine, I'd certainly give you brownie points!  :)  And I don't think she's necessarily bent on keeping the studs name in the baby's name, though I think it would be a good marketing strategy if it were.  Another one of the foals we named "In the Nick of Time" aka Niki.  So having Artbeat in the name isn't a must.  She'll probably come up with some sort of tag to put in front of all of Stilts' babies names like she did with her other stallion... All of Red's babies names started with "SRS."  Rizzie's full name is actually "SRS A Rizen Talent" since she was out of Red.

Well, I emailed my trainer some name suggestions and she really like Rizing to the Beat (good job Jessi!) and the barn name Aria (my modified version of the Ari suggestion).  I know they don't exactly match up in that Aria is not anywhere in the full name, but they both have musical implications so I think they both fit great! 

 Its not finalized yet, but I'm hoping she keeps the name.  I'll let you all know what she decides!  Thanks for all the suggestions!

OH and I JUST heard a rumor that my trainer is kind of fed up with Rizzie because she is not really making a good mom. :(  She just kind of ignores the baby and seems to not really realize its her baby.  It doesnt surprise me all that much because Rizzie is very much a "people" horse and has looked to people for guidance her whole life.  I think she thinks the foal is "our" baby.  She does let her nurse, so that's good. 

 On the upside, this probably means that my trainer won't be breeding Rizzie again next year and she will probably sell her.  I have already expressed to my trainer that if she EVER decided to sell Rizzie that I woudl be first in line to buy her and I would do anything it took to find the money.  I do hope that she will wait to sell her until I get out of school (I only have another year and a half)... but even if she doesnt, I'm really excited at the fact that I have a chance at owning Rizzie!  She would make the PERFECT first horse for me because I've been working with her, she's a good age, and she has a lot of talent. 

 Anway, the situation is a bit of a Catch 22 but I can't stop thinking about the idea of me possibly owning Riz!  Lets all cross our fingers!

I know!  I'm pretty bummed that Rizzie isn't doing so well with the mommy business.  But, like I said, I'm also really excited if that means that Marie won't breed her next year because that means that I'll get to ride her again!  I do like the names... I hope she decides to keep them.

And I really hope you DO get to buy Rizzie :) I'm assuming she's a maiden though? If so, she'd probably be more motherly next baby. BUT, you don't need to tell owner that hehe ;)

Yeah.... she is a maiden mare.  And my trainer probably knows that she might be more motherly the second time around.  But maybe she won't want to take that risk since the other maiden mare that foaled took so well to it.  We'll see. 

Even if she does decide to breed her again though... I'm still kind of excited that the idea of selling Rizz is rolling through her brain.  That means I might be able to convince her to sell her to me once schools out. :)  We'll just have to wait and see!

A maiden mare hasn't had a baby yet, right. I don't know anything about breeding expcet that foals are cute. I hope that you can keep Rozzie. She is really pretty, and so is her foal. Were do you live, I want to steal him!!!!

Correct. Maiden mare means its their first baby.  I don't really know much about breeding either, but I am learning!  Just got news about buying Rizzie yesterday.   I posted another thread in Bragging Rights about it!  :)  And I might just steal her first!
