It could still be 2-3 weeks as we all know horses go by their own schedule.  However, due to family obIigations I have to go to Delaware tomorrow, so I'm going to take her over to the vet's place just to be on the safe side.  She better not have that foal while I'm gone!

Wow, she sure is bagged up.  Looks like you still might have some time, though.  But again, like you said, they tend to go on their own schedules, LOL.  Here's hoping that Octavia waits for you to get back!!!

 Your horses are very pretty. All hooves crossed that she waits for you to return. She might even pull a Casi and not go for what, 3 weeks now past due now Jessi? LOL  Good luck with her. Make sure you show lots of pics when she does foal.

Okay, sorry I haven't updated this often.  I've been insanely busy!  So, I got back from Delaware on Sunday afternoon and it was RAINING.   I stopped by to visit and drop off a full bag of feed and her daily wormer, BOSS, and minerals.  Octavia had been moved to a big front field with three other mares.  She still had her halter on and someone had tightened it and it scrapped her face, so I took it off.

We ended up with about 6 inches of rain and lots of flooding. 

 I took the camera again on Tuesday and not much had changed, except that the sun was out and it had stopped raining!

The vet's office called to inform me today that they'll be bringing her into the foaling stall at night now as she's giving signs of being closer to foaling.  Yay! 

Octavia was in foal when I bought her in July.  The stallion is an Iberian Warmblood (Andalusian x Trakehner).

Octavia is waxing and was uncomfortable last night and this morning.  C'mon baby.

 The vet and her assistant have bets out on who is going to foal first, Octavia or a walker mare who is there too. :)

Okay, so here's the deal at 9:14 we get a phone call - "We're having a baby."
We get in the car and we're turning down the road at 9:25
We pull up at 9:31
Baby is out and Octavia is up. Ms. Thang had that baby out in less than 15 minutes.

We had him standing in an hour and then he wanted a nap again. :) He was up again a couple minutes later and stayed up for a long time, eating, eating, eating. Boy goes full out on both teats. Maybe I should name him Piglet? Naaaah.
