I haven't been here for a while (and can't get logged in as Uppity Old Folk or UOF anymore) but I did want to let those who remember Kicks (Buck Shott H X Rague) that he was euthanized shortly after 1pm MDT on Sunday, May 18, 2008.

 He had apparently either coliced or I think more likely gotten cast some time between 10 pm Saturday when I left he was fine, but when the am feeder got there at 8am he was in bad shape.  She called me and got him out of his stall trying to keep him up and walking.  I got there and gave him Banamine with no releif so Vet was gotten to the barn.  With the drugs she got in him we were able to get him loaded and to an emergency clinic where he was euthanized.

It is also sad that on Saturday May 17th that the last foal (filly) of Buck Shott H died at the Vets.  Benelli (her dam) had been taken to the Vet to foal.  Filly was about 7 -10 days old (I don't remember exatcly what day she was born) and I don't know yet what the necropsy turned up as I haven't talked to Kristine since she told me while I was at the Clinic with Kicks.

I haven't visited the general discussions in months, but happened on here this evening and saw your post.  So sorry for your loss.

Sending love and hugs your way, Just know he's in such a happy place, enjoying lush green pastures and he's still always with you, its hard to go through such a thing but be appreciative you were blessed with him the time you had him in your arms.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It's a long hard road to recovery but in time, it will get easier. You did what you could for him and couldn't ask any more than that.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful animal, and I always enjoyed your updates about him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry :( It is so sad when they have to go so young. His life may have been short, but it was wonderful thanks to you. *HUGS*

Oh, Uppity, I am soooooo sorry to hear about your handsome boy Kicks! Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.  It's also very sad about Buck Shott's last filly.  (((Big Hugs))) to you from Ohio.

OMG, I am so very sorry you lost Kicks. I know how happy you were when you showed him to me.  I know you had high hopes he would follow in his sires footsteps.
