Ooooh, very pretty! Looks great! Is the background painted or is that the original wood? Can't quite tell from the picture. Make sure when you put a coat of varnish is to let it dry completely or you'll end up with a gummy mess when trying to do the second coat. When putting on the second coat, also make sure the varnish is well stirred and do long, slow strokes. It's different than paint and doesn't flow as well and if you go too fast, you'll get air bubbles.
Most of my signs didn't have any hanging devices as they were just screwed to the front of the stall doors, but the two "I love" signs were for girls who rode at a stable and the horses weren't theirs.
