I am not a conformation person, but I wanted to bump this to the top for you.  I only notice that her hip seems a little undermuscled for the purpose of bringing you both over a jump.  I could be wrong though.

yea she is severly out of shape, it has been slow getting her muscled back up after she lost her baby.  i have been doin lots of hill work on her to try and get the back end built up a little.  she has no problems jumping before the baby we were jumping a/b 3' and more.  thanks for the post i was beginning to wonder if everyone had just disappeared from the constructive critique forum.

    any other coments are welcome

Lakoda looks so different when she is not under saddle.  Her shoulder has a bit of angle to it which matches her pastern and hoof angles, so that is good.  She looks like she has nice feet too.

She has a verrrrry long back and a short hip and her back legs are quite straight.  She also has a short thick neck.  She will absolutely benefit from you building her topline, rump, and neck back up to support her before you start jumping her again.  She will need those muscles to provide the jumping effort as she is not getting much spring from those back legs without a lot of extra effort.

Re: comfo pics plz tell me what you think

i have been doin lots of hills and round pen work w/ her trying to build her back up and i have only been doin short cross rails w/ her until i have her back a little more... sturdy.  her hooves had actually just ben done i have the worst time w/ them cracking and breaking not even 3 weeks after they have been done.  it is so dry down here and our farrier says that has a lot to do w/ it and i have tried  putting conditioner on them whatever else i could think of but nothing seems to work we even overflow the the water bucket so that they can stand in the water while the drink (lakoda loves the water bucket..playing in it... so she stands there quite a bit).  it has recently rained pretty much every day for a week straight and they seem to be holding up pretty well but unfortunately in south alabama it could be months b4 it rains again.  prior to this past week i couldn't remember the last time it had rained.  do any of u know of anything different to try to keep her hooves from cracking and breaking so easily?  any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'm not good at comfo. either. But I do want to say, she looks like 2 different horses from either side. 1 side you get an Appy and the other a Paint.

I have a farrier that says to paint the hooves with corn oil.

    Have you tried shoes?

i love the fact that she looks like 2 different horses, she is so unique both her outward appearence and her inward.  she is such a sweet girl and she is the only reason i am even still riding horses.

i haven't tried the corn oil but i will definately see if it helps.  i have not had shoes put on her yet, i was just kinda trying other stuff to see if it would help them.  i have nothing against putting shoes on horses but i do like keeping her barefoot just so she doesn't pull them off or anything (we have had lots of problems in the past w/ horses pulling shoes)  i may have to do that especially when i start showing her again next year.

thanks everyone for the posts and more are welcome.
