So on Wed. my sister was driving the van and I was passenger in the city. We came up to a light that was green and my sister looked away for a sec. She's not sure exactly why, thinks she was checking mirrors. Anyway, when she looked back up a big F-150 had stopped in front of us. Needless to say we rear-ended the thing pretty good. The front end of the van is pretty smushed. The truck didn't have much damage. My sister and I (we are twins, not identical) just got our drivers in Jan. so we were both very shook up. The guy who was driving the truck was really nice though and we got through the whole thing alright. We were both OK physically. My mom was nearby but couldn't come b/c we had the vehicle. My dad was also close so he came to pick us up. Right now we are waiting to hear from Autopac but we are pretty sure it will be a write-off. Not sure what will happen with my sister's license.
The airbags came out and must have scraped past my arm pretty good. I have no memory before or during the crash, just afterwards. Anyway, here are some pics of my arm. The crash was on Wed. these were taken yesterday (Mon.) so 5 days later.
This is my whole arm, its my left arm from just above my wrist to over half-way between my elbow and shoulder. Part of it may be some chemical burn, apparently there are chemicals on the airbags that could easily have gotten in there. I'm not sure, all I know is that it hurt like crazy all afternoon and evening.
