    The Bionic TB...whaddya think?

    Here he is... Dallas

    (Forty Foot Fred) http://www.pedigreequery.com/forty+foot+fred

Lotsa Nasrullah in There with Dr. Fager, Native Dancer, Northern Dancer, etc....

9 yr old Tb gelding, practically 18hh. (depends if he's wearing his shoes lol) He does 3rd level dressage, schooling 4th. Jumps 4'3" when I'm riding, and as high as he needs to get out of a stall if I leave him at a show.

Last year he was chased thru a fence and tore all the skin off the front of his hind legs. After a 1/2 hr of looking for him, we found him standing on the side of the hwy with the RCMP, sans skin. The officer told me I was lucky, she was just waiting for a second officer to arrive and so they could shoot him! Jeez!  Don't bother reading the tag on his halter on anything....

Luckily, there's no permanent damage and the skin's almost all back, with the exception of a patch on each hock.

I almost changed his name from Dallas to Austin...lol after the six million dollar man. After all, ladies and gentlemen, we have rebuilt him.

He's back to work since May, and it's like he hasn't missed a ride. He has all the same buttons and still knows his moves... I now school him myself tho and ride only with my husband...I grew tired of everyone (incl. coaches) telling me that I wasted my money (5K+) fixing him back up, that he's just a OTTB and I could have gotten another one for nothing...

I got him two years ago for $500, (250 plus 250 for shipping) from a spoiled kid who's parents bought him right off the track, sent him to a fancy Dressage Barn, and then the trainer said to just get rid of him; that they'd be better off with one of her DWBs because TBs aren't capable of dressage.

I haven't run into a single problem in training him, in fact, I've never had such an easy time perfecting the pirouette. The only thing with him is that he doesn't stay in stalls. At all. But I work around that pretty easily. Anyways...what do y'all think of him? I don't mind if you don't like him, I'm just curious so go ahead and let 'er fly!

Overall I think he is quite lovely.  I would love to see slightly more angle in his hind legs and his front legs look like they be a little over at the knee in the first pic but I am being picky with both of those critiques.  I would love to see some more pics or a video of him working.  Kudos to you for tackling such a big boy.

I think he is adorable! Although I am partial to dark TB's.  I think he is VERY lucky to have you as a mom and not give up on him. All that matters is that you both are happy and healthy.  All of our horses have their quirks about them, but we love em anyway. As for TB's not doing dressage is crap!  I had an OTTB that did wonderful in dressage, I also rode a great grandson of secretariet and he was really good at it too.  I have an appaloosa doing dressage right now, you want to talk about not suitable for dressage! And we place 1st and 2nd at the last show! So they can take their snooty attitude and choke on it while you go out and have fun!

Well I for one adore those long legs of his. He looks like a pretty neat guy.
