About Juli Bishop

My horse experience ranges from foundation quarter horses to arabs to Grand Prix dressage. I work cattle and drive. I have a new dressage horse, aiming for Grand Prix and I have all manner of western horses in my barn. Ecclectic doesn't even begin to describe me. I am a professional Alternative Equine Medicine practitioner. I also am one of a very few who practice Equine Behavior Therapies. I train because I love it, that light bulb moment when you know that the horse has just gotten the concept. I have over 50 yrs. in the saddle and will keep riding until I simply can't get on a horse anymore. I teach US Pony Club for a club that participates in three day eventing and barrel racing to a local group of future Sherry Cervies. In my mind, there are no bad breeds, no bad riding discipline, and no horse that doesn't deserve a chance. Just bad people sometimes who through ignorance, lack of educatioon, or just plain meanness mishandle one of these noble creatures. And that list of bad people is full of both people who no one will ever know and top trainers who we read about every day. I show the horses in my barn without cruelty, cheating, doctoring, or altering by any means. I am successfull, but most importantly, my horses are healthy and happy. I run my place with a strong eye to being as eco friendly as possible. And when I trail ride (yes, even top show horses go out on the trails in my barn) and always strive to leave the smallest eco footprint possible where I pass. Try it, you'll like it!
