I ride western (which includes pleasure and Contesting/speed events) and english (which includes jumping a little dressage and my passion-Saddleseat!) I began riding western pleasure in 4-H at 15 yrs old. I quickly figured out how much fun speed was, so for a few years I made a lot of money at the speed events. I fell in love with saddleseat around that time and competed with a Morgan-I still love it and own a National Show Horse currently. Then I rode endurance/competitive trail with a couple of different horses and into college I kept it up. During college I rode under a huntseat professor and started another obsession-Jumping! I did an internship to the dismay of my instructor with a Western Pleasure/Trail trainer. After college my full time job didnt allow as much time for horses so for a few years I just did some horse training on the side. two years ago I was given an unbroke 9 yr old NSH gelding with amazing breeding! So now after I trained him (which i often forget was just a couple of years ago-he rides like a veteran!) we now mostly go english and dressage-eventing would be great for us-my horse loves to jump, but not so sure what he would think of "creative" jumps (he is still half arab ya know!)
