  • Re: Party Day

RC, I love the looks of Cha Cha! What a fun discipline to learn. I find it disconcerting when proponents of one discipline automatically infer or look for abuse in another discipline without the knowledge of breeding for conformation and natural ability of the horse for that so called "abusive" discipline, to be able to evaluate it properly. Rem, you ask if we have rain? My girl, we have had nothing BUT rain since the first of October! Every single day! It totally ruined my fall outdoor

  • Re: petition against rollkur

Touche! Nicole. I know very little about dressage and absolutely nothing about rollkur. However I wholeheartedly support your intelligent statements and focus on learning, investigating, educating, and determining for yourself a "knowledgable" decision in any subject. Well said!

  • Re: hard questions

Bless you for doing the right thing for your dear friend Topaz. I'm sure she thanks you and loves you for providing her a comfortable passing into the next world where she will not have pain.

Darn, JG! And you use that truck so much. Sorry you're having to deal with this at such an inopportune time. DD's car had the same problem. Sensors. FH, are you sure you weren't a head mechanic in a past life? I had a GREAT lesson on Ginger today. Ginger was bred for speed, and that's what she likes. She would have made a great reiner, but we never took her that way. She is a great horse and well trained. I just couldn't seem to slow her down. So I had the trainer ride her for

Spraguetti!!! You poor baby! Thank your lucky stars it wasn't worse. Don't beat yourself up about it. You used good logic, but Glis wasn't exactly where you thought she was. It happens sometimes. Hope a clinic comes up where you can get her desensitized to cows. Or maybe a friend or neighbor who has cows will let you bring her over and get introduced to them. I was out on Buster and Ginger one day when they totally freaked. They've been by cows, llamas, goats, sheep many times close

  • Re: Lame, grrr....

Thank you so much, JG! That should help me keep my girl's tail free of mud. Never thought of using vet wrap until you mentioned it today. That's great news for you AND Bunny, RC! The resort in Scottsdale sounds luscious too! My body is craving sunlight and warmth!

There's no way Jewel will let that pig stay in her paddock and make a "pigsty" of it, LOL! Besides, thought pigs were supposed to be pink???? Is this a baby pig, FH? It looks awfully small. Ginger and I have enjoyed a few good rides the past few days now that I have her back at the boarding arena. She detests staying out in the rain and mud all day. Just to prove it, she rolls until every hair in her mane and tail, her entire neck and even her eyes are caked with mud! I should take

With those landings, I doubt the polo rider mounted a horse again for a while, LOL!

SH, I think the OP in "chomping the bit" has a totally different scenario than you have with Blue. Her issue seems to be a "constant" chomping on the bit. I'm sure Blue doesn't do that. Some horses are just mouthier than others. Sheik is that way. I have to remind him not to be. Occassional playing with the lead rope or reins is probably due to boredom or curiosity, or just playfulness. Not to worry, my friend. rr, fun story and insight into the French countryside way
